Bill Watterson's Calvin and Hobbes has been a worldwide favorite since its introduction in 1985. The strip follows the richly imaginative adventures of Calvin and his trusty tiger, Hobbes. Whether a poignant look at serious family issues or a round of time-travel (with the aid of a well-labeled cardboard box), Calvin and Hobbes will astound and delight you.

“Extemporaneous” is a big word for a little boy.

So is the excuse itself, for that matter.

Now, if he’d had an ebook back then, the letters crashing off the screen might be a reasonable excuse.

I too have observed that when I try to read something uninteresting the characters just fall off the page in a heap of gibberish!

Next time, sweep the pile of letters into a trash bag so you can dump ’em on her desk and let HER figure them out.

dyslexic kids are actually often quite clever with words – they just have problems reading them. The “letters fall from the page” are actually a dyslexia symptom as Nebulous speaks of above. Might have something to do with Calvin’s aversion to studying. – then again he might just be lazy :þ

She could have, at least, appreciated his originality on the excuse.
