Bill Watterson’s Calvin and Hobbes has been a worldwide favorite since its introduction in 1985. The strip follows the richly imaginative adventures of Calvin and his trusty tiger, Hobbes. Whether a poignant look at serious family issues or a round of time-travel (with the aid of a well-labeled cardboard box), Calvin and Hobbes will astound and delight you.

Ah, the lack of gullible Moms is a tragic thing…

Must be a mistake. They just ran this one.

No, I’ve definitely seen this one recently before, too.

Some weeks ago, I saw it too!

Yes, they ran it September 11.

My wife always says this is what will happen to me, as I always hold my sneezes in. For those of you with a good Calvin memory - I tell her I’m trying to blow my socks off.
LX013 said, 3 months ago
Yesterday I sang with our choir before audience. And just within a song a terrible sneeze went up. I came to the end of the song, but than I burst!

it’s a glitch in the system

Mom could have pretended he lost his head and turned it into a where is Calvin’s head game. Then magic Mom could have done a hokus pokus and made the head reappear when she pulled his shirt down. Adults keep fooling themselves with reality when it is really the illusion of relative material existence. Kids seem to know that, but somewhere along the way we all forget.

This one actually ran on October 25th…but is funny enough to see again!

You are correct. I finally found it myself. What I remember more about this strip was the animated attachment by Hugh B. Hayve of the same strip.
It’s still one of the best ones and I don’t mind seeing it again so soon.
Macushlalondra said, 3 months ago
I wonder why it’s repeated again so soon?
wcorvi said, 3 months ago
Folks, I hate to tell you this, but they are ALL repeats.

We know that - at least most of us do. They just normally don’t repeat a particular strip so soon after its last showing, which was Oct 25th in this one’s case.

must be a mistake! how funny!

They finished the entire series quite some time ago, and started over, but I’m not sure they started at the beginning again.

a busy mom just isn’t any fun.
murcudgeon said, 3 months ago
I don’t think Calvin’s mom actually likes him.

wonder why they repeated this one.

Has Bill Watterson retired? I had noticed occasional repeats, but I was under the impression this was still an active comic.
(I had been absent for a while.)
Man!! I really DID oversleep!!!

Watterson stops doing this strip in December of ‘95.

It’s just a comic. No doubt this is how Calvin perceives his parents to be in his warped little world. And if they weren’t the way they are portrayed, would it be as funny?

I can’t help it, BC13. I can remember reading this strip in the paper years ago, and I felt the same way.
Yeah, it’s just a comic, but there’s an underlying truth here.
Calvin is exceptionaqlly bright and imaginative, far beyond most 6-year olds (especially poor Susie), and his parents either don’t recognize that, or–most likely–they just don’t give a damn! I think the only reason he was born was to be a tax write-off!
If he had been born in an earlier age, he probably would have become a rebel-hippie. But I hope not, because the hippies of the ‘60’s became the money-grubbing yuppies of the ‘80’s!

I generally sneeze in threes - each one progressively more violent than the previous one. Though I have yet to sneeze my head off. That would be cool, in a restaurant at lunch time, perhaps.

Jon, I knew a man who used to keep his sneezes inside. He back blew his sinuses into his brain and it killed him. No joke, his name was Thibideaux (not sure I spelled that right).
jabberwocky1969 said, 3 months ago
@ everyone… they are all “repeats”. Watterson’s last strip was on December 31, 1995 i.e. fourteen years ago. He’s now living the simple life in Ohio.
Comic-Nut said, 3 months ago
Yes, it’s a repeat…. just like all of them are repeats.
As far as I know, there are no fresh new Calvin cartoons. All the toon’s are in the books.
Comic-Nut said, 3 months ago
Unless of course … they are doing repeats just like TV seasons run repeats when nothing new is available… or maybe the artist is ill.

I THINK THESE COMMENTS REPEAT MORE THAN THE COMIC DOES
