Bill Watterson’s Calvin and Hobbes has been a worldwide favorite since its introduction in 1985. The strip follows the richly imaginative adventures of Calvin and his trusty tiger, Hobbes. Whether a poignant look at serious family issues or a round of time-travel (with the aid of a well-labeled cardboard box), Calvin and Hobbes will astound and delight you.

Man! The Chargers could use Hobbes. Too bad he was drafted by the Bengals.
cleokaya - Thanks for the input. I WILL stick with this avatar. Until a better one comes along.

That won’t work either. Hobbes is faster.

WoodEye - Good, it works. Great comment today.
I don’t think Calvin would have any better luck with touch football. He has met his match.

Calivn, just wait until you get the ball back. Then go on offense the Mean Machine way.. It worked once…it oughta work again.

Tiger vs boy… mmm Calvin I don’t think you’re going to go far with this one…

Do you notice that Hobbs really just stands there and lets Calvin flail himself to death. Life can be like that for some people as well. The harder they try the behinder they get.

Tigers are kind of hard to tackle.

Looks like Calvin will always loose to Hobbes because Hobbes is bigger.

Can we look at this kinda metaphorically? Does Calvin represent us and Hobbes life (as in “bigger than”)? At least Calvin doesn’t give up right away. What I really love are the looks on their faces!

Stay tuned for Monday. Rarely if ever does a weekly arc continue into Sunday here.

Hey!! That looks like the UVA football team. I swear it takes 4 of them to tackle any ONE of the other players.

Can Hobbes play baseball? I think Detroit is recruiting.

I know I’ve said it before but I was the only girl on my street growing up so I played with the guys. As the guys got older they got taller than me and I’d have to be creative to get the ball. Yes tickling is a good tactic but a never fail method is a good slobbery lick on the neck or cheek. It brings about the same reaction as Lucy after Snoopy licks or kisses her on the Peanuts cartoons!
