Bill Watterson’s Calvin and Hobbes has been a worldwide favorite since its introduction in 1985. The strip follows the richly imaginative adventures of Calvin and his trusty tiger, Hobbes. Whether a poignant look at serious family issues or a round of time-travel (with the aid of a well-labeled cardboard box), Calvin and Hobbes will astound and delight you.

Hobbes will have to part his tuna!
DreamScourge said, 22 days ago
Maybe they will pass a friendly witch in space who will have them to dinner.

Welcome back Morgue. Missed you.
Not packing food for Calvin has changed the expected weight of the wagon and thereby thrown off Calvin’s calculation regarding escape velocity. They may well crase.

…or they could end in Jupiter…

Hmmm. Nothing about returning to earth.
Oh, wait. I think that’s about to happen.
Phil Bartle said, 22 days ago
Are there any places that sell tuna on jupiter?

If only Spaceman Spiff would have set up a stall during his umpteen expeditions…

I predicted yesterday there would be a problem with having enough food on the wagon heading for Mars. That was easy—with Calvin, it’s all about food….
rshive said, 21 days ago
Lots of tuna naturally. But what about chocolate coated sugar bombs?
jrbj said, 21 days ago
I’d say their ramp was too short to lift them to escape velocity. Should they survive the crash, their food problem will be solved when Mom serves lunch. Hopefully nothing with Tuna in it.

Oh boy, now there’s going to be trouble with this pair of spacemen!

Maybe its time to be discussing the safe landing in mars against its gravity .. and/or earth’s just in case of failures ..

@ drwatson:
Yupp, with all that Tuna, they sure are “stuffed”.
“Stuffed” tigers = stuffed “with tuna” tigers
Amazing busy-yet-perplexed look on Clavin’s face in panel 2!!!
BTW, wher can i buy that wagon? I wana set ME off to Mars too!

Two days ago I warned of launch without lunch. Luckily it was pointed out to me they will have Mars and Milky Way bars upon their touchdown, assuming that touchdown is on Mars.

So close to Halloween, Calvin should’ve brought along his mom’s s-s-spider p-pie as provisions.

This strip is in reruns and is not following our current calendar. Halloween may show up here in time for Christmas. Calvin just recently went back to school in this current run.

If they meet Broomie in space, she’ll have ‘em for dinner all right!
Although I think she’ll spare Hobbes. Fur is indigestable.

Not to worry….probably a McDonalds on Mars.
Vonnegut said, 21 days ago
Assuming Calvin’s hill is a generous 200 yds long and escape velocity on the Earth’s surface is about 7 miles/second, then Calvin’s wagon would need to cover the distance from panel one to panel four in less than two one thousandths of a second.
I’ve tried several times and I simply can’t read that fast.

Well it’s here in upstate New York now, the Swine Flu! My granddaughter started puking during the night Tuesday and by Wednesday afternoon ended up in the emergency room hooked up to an IV with a 105 degree temperature. Her fever finally got down to 100 degrees on Thursday and by 11:00pm her fever broke. She’s going to the doctor’s for follow-up and we’ll all know more later. I believe in the power of prayer so if everyone could take a minute today I’d appreciate it! Thank you all!

As long as the trip isn’t too long, keeping the tiger well fed is probably more important than keeping the human well fed. After all, in a pinch, the tiger can eat the boy–even if he doesn’t smell too good.
ratlum said, 21 days ago
Food be darned , a couple pillows to sit on during landing would look good
JeffMcDermott said, 17 days ago
I understood that, BC…but that doesn’t mean he couldn’t have brought along some s-s-spider p-pie.
