Bill Watterson’s Calvin and Hobbes has been a worldwide favorite since its introduction in 1985. The strip follows the richly imaginative adventures of Calvin and his trusty tiger, Hobbes. Whether a poignant look at serious family issues or a round of time-travel (with the aid of a well-labeled cardboard box), Calvin and Hobbes will astound and delight you.

Be very glad that all they gave you was looks…

Thank God, they did not puncture the baloon. That would have done it too !
Superfrog said, 3 months ago
Hey Calvin. You did everything right. “Excuse me”, “Pardon me”, and shouted a warning AND balloons have right of way over powered flyers.
That’s airmanship!
Ducks should just duck off.

Now it’s the third day and I don’t know, where the journey goes already!

Duck, Calvin!
The ducks are in disarray;
Why didn’t they veer away?
Quack goes the duck = Honk goes the goose
Beep Beep! goes Calvin

I know the look well. I’ve gotten the evil eye from ducks many times.

This is my favorite Calvin of all time, I have the last panel of one of the next couple days (cut out of the paper when it came out) on my bedroom wall, as a reminder about life and it’s possibilities.

Pretty good air current.
Leonardeuler said, 3 months ago
Yes, Carpetinwater9, Calvin seems pretty oscillating in that air current.
LX013 said, 3 months ago
To Leonardeuler: Yes, it seems so, around the world in 80 days!

You mean this story arc could take 80 days?

While soaring to fantastic height
Our hero interferes with flight
But this awesome skill
May get him killed
With Hobbes nowhere in sight.
hagarthehorrible said, 3 months ago
It is only Calvin who can think of ducks blocking his flight path !!

Only Calvin could bring pandemonium to such a high level.

You are right, but with Calvin’s imagination, he may just be trying to get out of a bath as we might often see spaceman spiff fighting off a space creature only to find he’s at the supper table or something.

YES, thank heavens for THE BOOK!

As I said, I don’t remember this, but I do have the authoritative C&H and I’m sure it’s in there. But I don’t want to spoil the fun by looking it up.

I did something like that in an airplane, once.

BC13 my thought, exactly. i’ve read books of collected strips (this one, and others) and find i prefer to read them 1 day at a time, for some reason. it does seem more fun that way.

I think I remember the one you’re talking about. I have it too, cut out from the newspaper. I thought it was the best description of life’s possibilities too, and it still applies today.
Sara Gemino said, 3 months ago
Suprisingly, none of the ducks thought the same thing!

Yeah if looks could kill… Been there, and it’s not a nice feeling, but hang on Calvin, I know you’ll make it.

Ducks fly in formation because it’s less difficult than following an individual course. Kudos to Calvin for his non-conformity!!!
bandz said, 3 months ago
Good thing he flew THROUGH the ducks rather than UNDER them! That prevented them from getting the drop on him.
lincolnhyde said, 3 months ago
Hmm - since Calvin is riding with the wind, and the ducks are flying, shouldn’t he be meeting them rather than passing them?
Kerovan said, 3 months ago
It won’t take 80 days, but I barely remember this so IDK how long it will take.

I think CH and DT outside of Bigtop, which I haven’t had the time to read, the most comments. My opionion only. I just like some of the commics and comments could actually rewrite the comics strips. Make more interesting in some cases, funny, or terrifing. All I know I have fun with this.
