Second panel Calvin makes a comment applicable to most fathers–and gets apt response from dad. Third panel, Calvin tries tweaking–and now flops!

For these attacks, Calvin always catches Dad when he’s reading.

    Why’s that, I wonder?

Calvin needs to work on his dad’s running mate also. Even if dad does become tired and gives in, mother won’t. Shes home with him more!

Repentant but learning? Repenting having a kid like Calvin and learning not to have another!

Calvin can show such deep thought for a kid, such as his grasp of motivational techniques and his knowledge of dinasaurs. Yet, as FishStix points out, Calvin can’t solve 8+3. Then again, this strip would not be as funny if he was just an ordinary kid.

N7326F: I’m assuming that, since Calvin’s 6 years old and an only child, THAT got done once the little smart-alleck learned how to talk and began running dad-opinion polls!!!!!

  32. musicnut1986

    musicnut1986 said, 6 months ago

Calvin learned early in life how to motivate and manipulate people. Today, in real life, Calvin is actually Billy Mays, pitch man for Oxi-Clean.

  33. FishStix

    FishStix said, 6 months ago

musicnut - at least one can enjoy loving to hate Calvin, but there’s ZERO to enjoy about screamin’ Billy Mays!! I’m sure Calvin is in San Quentin by now…

In a more modern version. Have Dad say he is sorry then go to rehab for two weeks. And since this is not Japan, his position is secure.

Dialogue is totally backward. Reverse the dialogue and maybe Calvin will become elected, albiet by a methodology he knew not - repentance. Is it, could it be…….(gulp) Ezekiel 37?
