Bill Watterson’s Calvin and Hobbes has been a worldwide favorite since its introduction in 1985. The strip follows the richly imaginative adventures of Calvin and his trusty tiger, Hobbes. Whether a poignant look at serious family issues or a round of time-travel (with the aid of a well-labeled cardboard box), Calvin and Hobbes will astound and delight you.

Oh, and there’s the canned salmon and the anchovies.

Hmm! Maybe i’ll have a tunafish sandwich a little later on (after everyone goes to bed of course). And if anyone asks me about it I’ll say the cats were hungry.

Somnambulists - bet there were a few had to look that one up. I knew there was something fishy about Hobbes.

I looked it up but I was confirming that I was correct!
DesultoryPhillipic said, 6 months ago
Not me. Calvin was perambulating with the somnambulist.

Why does Mom wear those granny pajamas?

The Slim-fast ads are a real pain, I have poor eyesight and love to use click to enlarge so I can read the words in the balloons easier. Unfortunately the right panels are obscured by the add totally covering some of the words at times, there also is a problem returning to normal view because you can only click on the add.

Carmy, She wants to make sure she doesn’t have any more like Calvin!

There’s something fishy here alright. I smell a conspiracy!
….Hobbes wasn’t somnabulisting at all….he was just pretending so Calvin would get the blame in case he got caught getting a midnight snack….which they did.
Case solved.

Hobbes must have been very hungry, he got out all Thuna!

Last panel: Yes, mom, it means your child is totally out of touch with reality. Run, don’t walk, to the shrink! But of course then this strip wouldn’t be funny. So never mind.

Don’t forget strip #1! Hobbes is stuffed–with tuna fish sandwiches…

My 19 year old son, about the time this strip came out originally, would get up in the middle of the night and turn the keyboard demo on, full volume, and dance. (remember the C&H Strip where they did that with the radio?)

carmy–It’s a granny nightgown up here. If she’s in a northern state, maybe it’s warmer to wear. Granny and Grandpa would have both worn “nightgowns” back in the day. No wonder they didn’t like ‘bleep’!

Nope “Chicken of the Sea”!!!

Let me get this straight. Calvin has been acting as if Hobbes is a real tiger for how long? Is now claiming he followed Hobbes to the kitchen and Mom is wondering why the tuna? Hmmm, denial or incipient Alzheimers?
