Of course not, he was busy mailing himself to Australia.

No beating you to the first comment is there Marg. I have a question though, why is this the first time Rosalyn rings the doorbell AFTER Calvin ignored her?

Of course he didn’t let her in. What kind of ninny are you. You are dressed like you belong in some cult. Lose the bulky dress and remember that it’s better to be naked than to wear such a hideous outfit.

What! He couldn’t get Garfield to mail him to Abu Dhabi?
Radelape said, 7 months ago
That is a hideous dress.. I love the spelling, Os Trlya :D

Is Calvin a little brother of Alexander and his terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day, both wanting to go to Australia.
LX013 said, 7 months ago
Hope Calvin and Hobbes will escape quickly enough!Quick, quick!
tbree said, 7 months ago
Rosalyn probably starts the clock even before she gets in the door….

“You didn’t even let her in ?!”
“Excuse me mom, I couldn’t reach at the doorhandle.”

Why would he let her in? Would you deliberately let in someone you couldn’t stand? Would you open the door willingly to the chicken pox?

Calvin, now you got Rosalyn in a worse mood than she was already in.

Closing the box on Calvin and the Hobbes might not be a bad idea. Are you watching Rosalyn?

Rosalyn says: Ka-ching!

Have you noticed that in all the comics and TV cartoons, at one point or another, someone tries to mail themselves to Australia? Seems like Mr. Watterson could have been more creative than that.

It’s many people’s concept of far away. Of course, not if you live there. Patagonia or Tierra del Fuego pehaps?

Rosalyn is a mistress of the “slow burn…”

Greeneyedtxn, I was gonna ask charlie the same question.

Anybody here reads P.G.Wodehouse ? Calvin’s fear reminds me of Bertie’s fear of his aunt Agatha.

Yeah, Calvin spells the same way he solves math problems. Use your Imagination!

Calvin’s mother’s dress looks too flashy Ugh! Why the earth did she wear that kind of dress? She should wear something elegant and chic instead of that flashy dress! And she looks too old for that dress to wear, too!
JohnJames said, 7 months ago
This comic is 15 years old. Perhaps her dress WAS considered elegant and chic back in those days.

No, it was just as dowdy then.

calvindino, it’s always nice to run into another Wodehouse fan. There is a parallel, isn’t there? And Bertie has actually run off to America to escape his Aunt Agatha, though not in a cardboard box.

i hope the package gets there- calvin spelled australia wrong
calvindino said, 7 months ago
primacyofreason, it’s a pleasure. My favourites among Bertie’s escapades are “The great Sermon Handicap” and “The purity of the turf” in “The Inimitable Jeeves’. Pure, clean, unalloyed humour.

All you C&H aficionados, I just discovered one explanation for Calvin’s “Noodle Incident”! See this Free Fall: http://freefall.purrsia.com/ff200/fv00125.htm

Excellent point Macush, and one that many mums seem to have difficulty grasping.
I can remember my mum asking me to give directions to a location (over phone) to someone whom I really didn’t want to talk to–when I specifically told her, I wasn’t going to give the directions (the caller could have used a Calgary City Street Map), she launched into a long spiel about “diplomacy” (another concept she didn’t understand–her idea of “diplomacy” matched that of Neville Chamberlain–and never even attempted to learn)!

Calvin and Hobbes will fit right in the jungles of Madagascar with Alex and his band. Seriously hope he gets lost on his way. The adventure would be a lot more fun that way.

Calvin best think outside the box when it comes to Rosalyn.

Think about it. If I was Rosalyn….I would HOPE they didn’t let me in, then she could go home and avoid the obvious and impending terror that awaits her.
cloudcat625 said, 7 months ago
rshive: yeah, but if you’re in california or around there, australia isn’t that far off. Russia or China wound make more sense.

Why would Calvin let Roslyn in the house!
