Bill Watterson’s Calvin and Hobbes has been a worldwide favorite since its introduction in 1985. The strip follows the richly imaginative adventures of Calvin and his trusty tiger, Hobbes. Whether a poignant look at serious family issues or a round of time-travel (with the aid of a well-labeled cardboard box), Calvin and Hobbes will astound and delight you.

Hey, Why not repair the transmogrifier and use it on Rosalyn. Mom and Dad will never know.
Yukoner said, 7 months ago
Dad, that really is un-American of you.
Leonardeuler said, 7 months ago
Sorry Calvindino, I purchased the transmogrifier. It arrived yesterday. It’s a really nice machine.

What kinda guy doesnt have any guns?
calvindino said, 7 months ago
attyush, leonardeuler has received the transmogrifier, while I haven’t. If I remember right, I was among the first 10 callers. I ought to get the transmogrifier box too.
Btw, this series is going to be good. Calvin now has the benefit of past experiences to deal with Rosalyn.

I have a .22, my wife came home with a 357 mag, I couldn’t stand that she had a bigger gun than me and had to go out and buy a .40 cal.
I hope she doesn’t come home with a .45 ;-)

Actually I think Rosalyn is sort of cute. Hobbes would agree with me.

h2oman - so your saying that you’re in an arms race with your wife?

I really like some of the things Bill Watterson did visually with this strip to add interest. Calvin BURSTS into the romm in the first panel and notice how the door looks kattiewoumpus suggesting it was violently thrown open. The other three panels are then shown from the height perspective of the adults, looking down on Calvin. I especially like Calvin in the third panel. Anyone else thinking “Elroy was here”?

Calvin’s parents still hire Rosalyn, the same ugly dork girl to baby-sit Calvin while they go out for the evening! Why did they hire different person to baby-sit instead of Rosalyn????? Hello?! Duhhh! Sheeshhh!

If I had any sense I would have bought a .38, at least we could have used the same ammo at the range..

When someone tells me their job is tough I snicker and think of Rosalyn, she has the toughest job in the world, I think!

Looks like Calvin knocked the door off the hinges in the first frame. I’ve an idea Calvin, go to your room and hide under the covers on your bed, Rosalyn would never think of looking for you there. heh-heh-heh!

Hello!!!
Because nobody else with babysit Calvin. Calvin’s parents know that and Rosalyn knows that also. That’s why she gets the big bucks! Comprendo?

I am surprised that Calvin knows about the “wooden stake and mallet” bit but is ignorant about garlic/onions. It is a simple thing that can keep vampires away. Remember the old saying
“An apple a day, keeps a doctor away; An onion (or garlic, depending on your preference) a day, keeps everyone away”.
Calvindino: Your transmogrifier has already been shipped and delivered. If you haven’t received it already, check with your kids/neighbours (or maybe neighbour’s kids). If you see a lot of weird looking creatures around you, you know that it has reached, but has been stolen.
And if you still have questions, please call 1-800-GET-LOST. Our customer service is unparalleled.

I think you mean “Kilroy.” And he’d need to have his hands and nose hanging over the border.

HelmetHead you are correct, I was picturing “Kilroy” in my mind. I should have researched the name before posting but I didn’t want to take the time. I did not mean that Bill Watterson was drawing a “Kilroy” in the third pane, but rather that showing Calvin from the eyes up made me think of Kilroy Was Here.

If CAlvin had listened, he would have had all day to prepare his defenses. Now it’s too late; he might as well accept his fate. But we know Calvin better than that. And yes, Rosalyn is worth whatever they pay her!
