And that is a good reason for him to stay a bit longer.

Uncles need to be careful not to wear out their welcome. As a much loved Uncle, I know.

I like Calvin’s reaction in the second panel.

There is real truth in what Calvin says. I was always more patient and less demanding of my kids when my brother or some other friend was visiting. Isn’t it sad that we need company to bring out the sort of behaviour that should simply be part of our make-up?

Calvin does have such a childlike innocence
LX013 said, 8 months ago
sorry, for Calvin in not realy happy for the staying of his uncle, he sees his own advantage.
Florchi said, 8 months ago
On previous day, charlie37133 says - “always thought uncle max was in reality Bill Watterson who came to visit his cartoon characters. uncle max knows too much.”
Out of curiousity, I Googled images of “Bill Watterson” and found that Uncle Max looks like he could be Watterson’s twin - (or at least his brother). Except Watterson wears glasses.

why doesn’t calvin like his uncle???
prasrinivara said, 8 months ago
For calvin_joshi, he’s six years old–so he sees uncle as someone to be used, rather than loved.
bald 716 said, 8 months ago
he doesn’t really dislike his uncle - he just didn’t want to give up his room even for a week
he treats everyone like that

Calvin’s survival skills are just more obvious than most.

“Tomorrow. Is that soon enough?”
Uncle Max speaks the language of Calvin.
Don’t Uncle Max and Calvin have a strange sort of chemistry? I think Calvin really likes the Uncle, but does not want to admit it, just like it is for Suzie.

alexhuama is saying that whatever happens to Calvin happens to all of us, and that is cool. Mind you, this isn’t a word by word translation ;^)

Look what I found!
A drawing of Watterson in which he himself personally (Watterson, I mean) is talking to Calvin..

Great picture Radelape! I’ve never seen that before. Do you know anything about the story behind this? Did this first appear in a Watterson book, or somewhere else???

Grazer, how soon would you leave if you were around Calvin? I know I wouldn’t last three hours. Without killing him.
Ginrummy33 said, 8 months ago
Nachos? I thought it was little Pizza slices.
SlyGuy54 said, 8 months ago
Hahaha.. I wish you could stay forever. Calvin would say something like that and not even think about twice.
