That’s women for ya’ Calvin. They can hold a grudge like none other… It’s not enough that you said you were sorry and helped her look for her eyeball, she wants revenge.

(whispering) For the rest of us, I think these kind of happenings are what squashed the last modicum of Calvin’s compassion for humans (Hobbes doesn’t count).

What’s nice about Calvin and Hobbes, is that it does show the true nature of some children. Heck, I was teased and called weird, but I would sometimes retort with a stinging comeback that would leave them…just blank.

You gents think this strip illustrates the untrustworthiness of women?! Who fired an iceball upon whom, without warning, from the back? The person who initiates hostilities deserves whatever he gets in consequence. Suzie’s eyeball drama should be characterized as brilliant improv, not untrustworthiness.

Congratulations to everyone who spelled her name correctly as “Susie” and shame on everyone else with variations such as a “z” and “y”. Check the third and fourth panels; it’s “Susie” Derkins with an “s” and “ie”, please.

Haven’t managed to get through it yet, but hope to spend a lot more time in 2009 with my weighty complete compilation of C&H. This website serves admirably in the meantime.
