Bill Watterson’s Calvin and Hobbes has been a worldwide favorite since its introduction in 1985. The strip follows the richly imaginative adventures of Calvin and his trusty tiger, Hobbes. Whether a poignant look at serious family issues or a round of time-travel (with the aid of a well-labeled cardboard box), Calvin and Hobbes will astound and delight you.

I once tried to write a moral childrens’ book. I had to be so careful, I ended writing a tag for laundry instructions. At least it was clean. No spin.

Morals ruin a story unless done properly. You need to let the moral shine through using the narrative, not ignoring it

Kablooie!

or you could just pull out the old wheel o’ morality and give it a spin.

My dear Tubbsbottl:
No plot agitation? No emotional heat? No narrative flow? Alas.

I believe his last statement places him squarely in the democrap camp, warthog.

I agree with wndrwrthg. Calvin is a republican. Cut out everything you want to ignore, regardless of how it messes things up.
Note to DesultoryPhillipic : Notice the lack of name slurring. I have noticed that lately name calling is the last bastion of disgruntled republicans
gbrucewilson said, 10 months ago
So, Al Franken is a republican? I guess Moveon.org and Huffington Post are republican also? Or am I “name calling” to mention them?

Reminds me of a Golden Girls episode where Sofia was telling lots of “St. Olaf” stories to Dorothy. At the end, Dorothy asked Sofia to skip to the point…to which Sofia responded with the single word “splat”.
I guess kiMoi remembers that episode as well, given the suggestion.

Geez, can’t we leave politics out of our comments?
Calvinator said, 10 months ago
Jackone – Here here! Coming in this forum to hear political drivel is a little like uhhh…. Like Calvin wanting to hear dad read War and Peace. BORING!

Hobbs is off somewhere reading Huck Finn.

DigitalFrog says:
“…just skip to the part about the Dread Pirate Roberts….”
My thought exactly!
and, Tetsuo, shouldn’t that be, “Once upon a time, they all lived happily ever after. The End”?

I disagree with Calvin. Just read me the sexy bits. Oh, and I prefer color pictures.
grazer said, 10 months ago
Calvin definately has a comic book mentality. Imagine that.
Me too. That’s why I’m here at the moment.
Can’t help but notice that political angst and lighthearted humor don’t mix well. Calvin’s right….lets skip the moral.
Dutchboy1 said, 10 months ago
What Calvin wants is ‘Short Attention-Span Theater’, all action and no plot.
Wildmustang1262 said, 10 months ago
Hey skip the politics and do something to keep Calvin enjoying before he goes to sleep!
I laughed about the last panel; prefer color pictures or black/white? Ha ha ha ha haaaa….

prasrinivara—wasn’t Sophia, it was Rose Nylan. (Betty White)

Tetsuo - that’s from Peanuts, Lucy reluctantly reading a story to Linus.
LOL Mr. Tubbsbottl!
chromeboy said, 10 months ago
Haha… “is this a kissing book…”
I love that movie… The first panel does remind one of ‘The Princess Bride’ …

Calvin is really a writer at heart. We see that in all his fantasies while Mrs. Wormwood is teaching. He should be writing the stories not getting Dad to read them to him.
Yukoner said, 10 months ago
Once again Dad shows that he is insensitive to his son and responds to Calvin’s immaturity by being snide, thereby displaying his own immaturity. Poor Calvin, such an example!

ShadowCougar8 Says: “Morals ruin a story unless done properly. You need to let the moral shine through using the narrative, not ignoring it” WWJD? He used parables to teach the moral lessons, thereby “letting the moral shine through”!

It would nice nice to have voting buttons as well as the flag. Then I could click on a bunch.
Vote for “Princess Bride” R.O.U.S was great.
Very glad I have that on DVD :D

Why does dad change sides of the bed? Adult ADD?
Burgundy2 said, 10 months ago
Considering Calvin, Likely adult ADD, however, it might be meant to indicate that this has gone on for a long period of time…
