actually, if his hearing was ultrasonic, he wouldn’t hear anything. ultrasonic means higher frequency, not higher sensitivity

Nothing more that Susie would like, than to give Calvin a push.

Or someone playing “Music of the Night” on a dog whistle.

Perhaps jumpin would be easier, if someone waitet at the bottom with a safety net oe with a parachute.

It’s a metaphor - the slide represents the economy and he’s waiting for his golden parachute…

This strip is a quarter century old. It says nothing about today.

Too bad he’s not Spaceman Spiff or he could ride down on his spaceship.

If we’re being picky, you need to remember that Calvin is not always so good with the details of his fantasies (and vocabulary). Who can forget his “Bats: The Big Bug Scourge of the Skys” fiasco?

In the first panel it looks like Stupendous Man is sending a signal. Wonder if he gets better reception than my cell. Meanwhile… his alter ego; Stupid Man prepares to escape the clutches of his arch attraction, the cloying cootie cobra, Suzy Sweethart.

Great point! Maybe he has a thing with heights…

Spaceman Spiff falls a lot farther before the crash.

I love how this strip shows that underneath it all, Calvin is still just a little boy.

I think Calvin wins the prize for the kid who attaches great imagination to ordinary life events. Looking forward to another ‘snow-man’ series.
frostbite01 said, 11 months ago
Actually, he wrote ultra-sonic. Meaning going beyond what is usual or ordinary. Not ultrasonic (w/o a hyphen) which is a sound with a frequency greater than 20,000 Hz, approximately the upper limit of human hearing

I think if he went back into STUPENDOUS MAN,he would be on the rooftop fighting on the edge of the rooftop against “SOOSE”,who is a horrible mutant-long time foe of STUPENDOUS MAN.
mrprongs said, 11 months ago
Forgot about Stupendous Man. And his fear of heights.

Calvin is scared of slides. Poor baby.
