Bruce Beattie joined the Daytona Beach News-Journal in Florida as editorial cartoonist in 1981 and today is syndicated to hundreds of newspapers. In addition to syndication, Beattie's cartoons have been featured on "Meet the Press," in the New York Times, New York Daily News, Detroit News, Milwaukee Journal and in several museum exhibits.

You’re both missing the point. The message is that the depicted ‘lone’ homeowner represents all Fannie/Freddie mortgagees.

Right on, shootist! But our taxes aren’t just bailing them out, but also payng for their “golden parachutes” and multi-million dollar bonuses the inept managment gets to keep. No investigation to find who was at fault for those political appointees from both Partys!

We got it, shootist, but the deregulation that Gramm pushed through is what made it possible to fail this big and for his buddies to reap all those millions. He did the same thing with the S&L’s and we taxpayers paid for both ends of that bailout and all their golden parachutes, too. And only the Keating 5 ever got charged.
