Living in an enchanted forest with surrealistic landscapes, the engaging characters of Broom Hilda happily have no connection with reality. Other comic characters are extensions or distortions of reality, but Broom Hilda deals in pure fantasy, making the strip bewitchingly unique. Here in the forest, the inhabitants maintain a standard of madness where total irrelevance is the only relevancy. The strip is simply a loony-bin where what’s said and done often makes no sense whatsoever, much to the joy of its millions of fans.

The only house Broomie could afford is an outhouse.
MARG! I can’t remember what your new dog’s
name is. Perhaps some day you can show him
on your avatar.

Some years back I took a job with NMFS. The little town in northern California didn’t have many rentals. I camped out in the woods for a month, waiting for an apartment. It was quiet and being in the region south of Mt.Ashland, it was scenic. It was kinda weird driving from the woods into town, then frequently driving right back out into the woods.

Ahh my Green Goddess a house is JUST a building,’tis the love within it that makes it a home. Home is therefore truly where the love is.

Yep, much nicer in color. Also this is what trailers were invented for.

Hey, at least you’re out of the rain.

If you had a house, Broomie, then you’d most likely have neighbors.
.
I’ll take the view without the nieghbors.
We have a nick-name for one of our 5 back yard neighbors, “Burn Barrel Betty”
.
Her husband mows the lawn and immediatly tries to burn the lawn clippings. All it does is smolder and the smoke rolls downhill to my house! And then she burns their trash with all the plastic containers and dirty grandbaby diapers.
