Living in an enchanted forest with surrealistic landscapes, the engaging characters of Broom Hilda happily have no connection with reality. Other comic characters are extensions or distortions of reality, but Broom Hilda deals in pure fantasy, making the strip bewitchingly unique. Here in the forest, the inhabitants maintain a standard of madness where total irrelevance is the only relevancy. The strip is simply a loony-bin where what’s said and done often makes no sense whatsoever, much to the joy of its millions of fans.

I wonder how often he takes a bath?
MARG! Aren’t you glad you don’t live in Dallas
after the hail storm they recently had? The dents
on the cars were the size of golf balls.

The road to Hell is paved with good intentions, Nerwin. Go wash your hands with soap and water.

Morgan Freeman’s Azeem said it in Kevin Costner’s Robin Hood: “There are no perfect plans, only perfect intentions”.

Ahh, the stern Auntie Broomie of panel 4 is a delight (except to Nerwin)!

The dark symmetrical arch above is a nice touch.

Nerwin, if you get them wet before you shake ‘em real hard, you’ll be mud slinging… on your way to a political career!

Plenty of time here for him to build a sufficient war chest of mud for some future campaign.

Time for Robin Hood to stage a comeback tour, not in Nottingham, but here on this side of the Atlantic. Robin and the Merry Men are desperately needed by the 99%.

Suggest he start in lower Manhattan on Wall Street, home of the American corporate Mafia. Those in corporate boardrooms now serve as financial advisors to the Sicilian Mafia, after receiving sizeable advisory fees, of course. Capitalism in action. The 1% are #1 in this field of endeavor.

Why doesn’t Nerwin just ask Aunt Broomie to ZAP the dirt off?

… you really want to trust her aim?
