Maybe they have an exam in drama class…

One troll, seven humans (plus the bus driver). What’s wrong with this picture?

Anything to avoid getting on that bus.

    Broomy where are you today?

Broomie’s brooming through outer space, Llewellenbruce [see yesterday’s strip]. The kiddie chorus is cute. Maybe they can get a gig on one of those “reality” dance competition-shows!

Irwin is such a good influence on these kids.

I think this is one chorus line I’d want to miss.

Nerwin is a troll and to have a woodland creature who only wears a propeller beanie and athletic shoes as a student in public school can be a very bad influence on human children.

That’s what’s wrong with that picture.

The purpose of the chorus line is to make the bus late for class.

    They’re ready to
    “Kiss today good-bye,
    And point (us) to tomorrow…”.

They all forgot their homework, so they’re giving us the old song-and-dance.

Either that or they think that they can knock the bus on its side with one simultaneous kick.

The human kids all seem 2b Caucasians.

The could be all green like Broomie, but we’ll never know unless these get printed in color.

    Hmmm…

From left to right, we have “Boy, Girl, Boy, Girl, Boy, TROLL, Girl, Boy.”

    Are trolls hermaphoditic?

We can always count on you, JAD, to give a straight answer to a straight line. I’d be offended, save that the sheer predictability of it all is so funny. :))

@schizoid: Years and years ago, the famous “Myth and Fact” arc about trolls established the “fact” that they are good family members (Irwin being shown with a wife and children to illustrate the point). Unfortunately I can’t recall just how Nephew Nerwin came into the picture…

“Unfortunately I can’t recall just how Nephew Nerwin came into the picture…”

So they didn’t actually get into troll reproductive biology, hmmmm??? The “ins and outs”, so to speak.

I find your argument inconclusive. Among some hermaphroditic species, it is still possible for a pair to adopt more traditional male/female roles when it comes to mating. (I think I saw this on “Star Trek” once.)

Schizoid, many years back there was a regular character named Olivia Troll, Irwin’s girlfriend. I often wonder what happened to her.

But anyway, there ARE female trolls, so I assume that trolls are not hermaphroditic.

Irwin may be undecided, but Nerwin is most definitely a boy! Or at least he acts like one as long as he’s living among humans. (I don’t know what’s under all that fur, but I don’t think I want to find out!)
