The disc also contains images of a naked man and woman.
(Maybe that’s why the Vogons decided to destroy the Earth.

A couple of plucky little machines doing a great job…….Is it true that when they were launched we didn’t have technology to communicate with them where they are now? But now we do?

Actually the aliens that found it thought the picture of man and woman was a menu item. The map of the solar system to guide them to the buffet. And remember, “It’s a cookbook!”

I think that’s right, Varnes. The groundbased radio receivers have improved in sensitivity tremendously since those days, allowing us to still receive the incredibly weak signals from them at those distances.
And I think it’s fantastic that both probes are working after all these years.

This shows Voyager 1 going by Uranus and Neptune, but it was actually Voyager 2.
V’ger was Voyager 6, which was never (or has yet to be) built. So we’re safe from bald chicks for now.

Wait, which one did the Klingons blow up before heading to what they believed was Qui’Tu?
