Brewster Rockit is an unlikely captain. He’s woefully ill-prepared to lead ... and that’s part of his charm. Orbiting the stars in the space station R.U. Sirius, Brewster and his crew of misfits encounter a constantly challenging set of interplanetary anomalies. Brewster Rockit: Space Guy! pushes the limits of space, time and humor.

That was the same way Homer Simpson felt after he was spurned by the Zombies in the “Dial Z For Zombie” segment in the Treehouse of Horror episode a few years back!

Hey, I guess having your mind scrambled can be useful!
… But why brains, exactly? I though zombies went for all sorts of organs.

Hey, we got color daily! Thanks, Tim! :)
It seems to have become a running joke, not just here, but in other venues. Of course, if they need brains then why are they conscious?
Looks like some of our local commentators guessed right: Brewster, having no brains to speak of, is in no danger.
I’m just surprised we haven’t seen zombies coming after Winky saying “spleens…spleens…” C’mon, Tim, get off the dime! :))

Ouch!
I totally get it; you might not wanna play, but it’s still nice to be asked.

Raakav, I got ten bucks says that Tim had little or nothing to do with having a color daily. Blame the syndicate.

Why, “Brains!”? It’s a quote from 1985’s “Return of the Living Dead” - a durn good one. Climaxes with the classic quote, “…that’s okay, Darlin’, because I love you, and that’s why you have to let me EAT YOUR BRAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIIIIINS! ”

So, I’m just noticing that with color, we get to see that Brewster’s hair is BLOND.
Hey - is this a blond joke?

Getting back to “Return Of The Living Dead”, a captured female zombie explained that eating brains temporary releaves the pain of being a zombie. “I can feel myself rot” I believe was the line. I guess it’s a hormonal imbalance.

Brewster has brains, elsewise he wouldn’t be able to move and talk, but the Zombies want something more than a light snack–they want a full course dinner!

When it comes to head cheese, Brewster is more of the aerosol processed variety…

It’s almost Halloween, you would think they would want some junk food.

I wonder if zombies like to pick at the spinal column for tasty morsels?

Brewster, you of all people should know that a zombie’s true weakness is Twilight.

I may be in the minority, but I am not a fan of dailies in color. Is this some kind of edict from the syndicates now? All of the dailies seem to be heading in this direction…
Even worse, the New York Daily News just this week began printing what appear to be colored dailies but in black and white. It’s a muddy looking mess.

He tries to be heroic and this is what happens?
(Better in color.)

Ok guys, time to dig for those hair color and brains jokes!

No doubt the syndicate is responsible for a color daily, but all else being equal, I’d say that was a good thing. And I’d still rather thank Tim the author (who must have a hand and a say in all this) than the syndicate (who does too naturally).
Of course, we Sunday strip watchers knew that Brewster was a blond. What else would he be?
I’m fresh out of blond jokes (in part because Alex Pettyfer, in my avatar, seems to be pretty smart). I’m willing to wait for some, however.

Color online is one thing – but note I made the distinction in what is showing up in our local newspaper that is converting colored dailies into black and white. That is NOT an improvement.
I know the trend is inescapable, and it’s just another example of how we forget that the Roy Cranes of the world accomplished more subtle effects with black and white zip-a-tone than anyone around today seems to imagine, much less remember.

Ah, definitely - loss of original information is not an improvement.
Speaking of loss of original information, where’s today’s strip?

Leave Brewster alone. The last Alien wet vac on his Brain took out how many times his Brain has been wet vaced.
