Yep, like K9Crew said, microfiche…miniature film rolls…had it when working in medical records. Pain the rear, slipped around all over the place when I tried to get it onto the magnifiying machine to read it. Don’t miss it a bit!

Scoonz…. If you’re not in the US, you also may not recognise that the pun is not just about the CA Highway Patrol itself,
but about a well-remembered 1970’s-80’s TV series caled C.Hi.P.S, featuring two CHP motorcycle officers, originally Ponch and Jon.

So instead of getting his cat “chipped,” ie. getting a microchip implanted, he got him turned into a television character,

And Bruno, if I never see another micro-fiche, it’ll be far too soon.

For awhile, our entire library card catalog, plus all the real estate plat maps, etc, for the county, were only available on large sheets of micro-fiche that you had to move around by hand under the reader, in all directions, to scan…
a process so dizzying and nauseating I had to give up both.

@Susan, @Bruno, and others – about a year and a half ago we got rid of ours finally! I thought I was the only that scanning and move those plates around made dizzy! No I don’t miss it!
