    Harry Potter, Simba, Cinderella, Indiana Jones, Luke Skywalker. Dads all died or were never there.

    Luke Skywalker is an odd choice here….

    His father was indeed absent during his youth…
    But if he were dead, or even “never there”, we’d have a whole different series!

    Disappearing Dads make them sound like Cheshire cats. For Indy it was more like “I’m invisible to my father, but I can see him.” Same effect, though.
