@Alexikakos
If I had to guess, someone set the alarm for 3:00.

He ordered an alarm clock because he is never on time and missed three deliveries.

His problem has now been deemed solved. They’ll cancel his ticket.

Some humor is timeless. Three-quarters of this is.

Sigh…..
the joke is that the Fed-Ex guy keeps telling him to be home to accept delivery at 3:00….
But how could he comply?
He didn’t have a clock, until he GOT the delivery.
Recursive humor.
Kinda like how my favorite thing to write on a postcard is “Let me know if you don’t get this.”
(Well, I’m easily amused, OK?)

Remember Castaway?
At the end, Tom Hanks delivered the one unopened package.
I always imagined it might have had something he could have used on the island.
Imagine, him walking away at the end, and the lady opens it and cries out, ‘At last, my two way radio!’
Or, "My flare gun kit!’
Or:(insert your own item a castaway could have used.)

Thanks for your explanations. I still fail to see the humour, but now I know why. :-)

I like the new UPS My Choice (they just give me a window for deliveries, but that’s OK).
What is more annoying are the messages as you wit on the phone for the cable company’s tech – telling me that I “might be able to find my answer online at the web address”. Do they REALLY bloody well think I’d be on the phone (on hold) if my internet were up?!!

@Bruno Zeigerts
I heard an interview with Robert Zemeckis, the director. He said he didn’t know either, but he liked to think it was a solar powered telephone.
