I’d like to see a version where a guy is shown how EVERYBODY is better off if he had never been born. His parents, his wife, his friends, his town, even his dog is better off. And he decides to stick around after all.

Done in The Simpsons and in Fairly Odd Parents.
I don’t get this joke, though…

Just i case you’re still lost….
in addition to what Briatollah said….
George Bailey is the reluctant hero of “it’s a Wonderful Life”…
a sweet 1946 Frank Capra movie still ubiquitous on US television during the Christmas season.
On Christmas Eve, a novice guardian angel, Clarence, dissuades George from his intended suicide by showing him what his hometown would have been like without him…. and thereby earns his own wings.

And don’t feel bad… yesterday I didn’t have a clue…
In fact I want to thank pschearer for saying he didn’t recognise the character parodied in the strip.
I hadn’t even reaiised there WAS one.

It took hundreds of hours before our daughter, the pilot, earned her wings.

Wings are easy. Spin yourself a cocoon, take a long nap, and when you awake….your a butterfly…. It seems to work for the caterpillar every time!

Thanks, Susan. You’re practically a celebrity here! :D

I admit this one took me about a minute to get it. But then I laughed and appreciated it. I do like humor that requires you to think.

Do yourself a big favor, Susan, and check out the video “The Year Without A Santa Claus” with both Heat Miser and Snow Miser doing their vaudeville routines. Trust me, you’ll love it!

I really hate that movie. However, I’d like to see where I’d be if my sister had never been born.
