Brevity is not only the soul of wit, it's also not your normal comics fare. In the hands of Dan, it is sharply intelligent, amusingly idiosyncratic and often uproariously funny.

FYI, Christianity doesn’t encourage people to go nuts at Christmas. Quite the opposite, actually. It’s the secular department stores an car manufacturers that encourage spending sprees for the holidays.

Yes, there is a hidden Pagan in all of us. I think we “go nuts” at Christmas to compensate for our insecurities .

I tried to have this conversation with my son last year at Christmas. He was ok with giving to charity all the stuff I was going to buy him because, as he put it, Santa was still going to bring him what he really wants anyway. Ahhh kids.

My daughter wrote 4 simple things she wanted for Christmas; all low-cost. She wants us to donate what we spent on her last year, this year. I hope she stays that way in heart for a long, long time.

Pagans have a deep appreciation for the social and spiritual meanings with the beginnings of winter. Doesn’t come from the store or on line.
