Brevity is not only the soul of wit, it's also not your normal comics fare. In the hands of Dan, it is sharply intelligent, amusingly idiosyncratic and often uproariously funny.

Oh!!
It’s the world famous Brevity dog!
Hope they find him… Brevity wouldn’t be the same without him.
(Though I always thought he belonged to rOdd, not to Henry Krinkle.)
Did Dan learn to draw him, or did rOdd come back to do it?

He looks 10# heavier in his wanted poster.

George Washington Krinkle, aka Bonkers, akc Snap K. Pop, has a lap sheet as long as your arm.

This must be a vintage poster; check the phone number.

I drew that mutt…rOdd is too busy sipping pina coladas on some tropical retirement island to come back and actually work.

The cats are still waiting for their nip.

The authors thoughtfully did not use a real number. Otherwise, the nutty 1% would phone it. The more usual practice is to use a number in standard format with exchange #555, which does not exist anywhere in N.A..

Bonkers looks happy; his tail is wagging. Maybe he took a nip.

Truer words were never uttered
Cats know which side their mice are buttered
They use us humans in their plans
(We’re here to open up their cans)
In other ways they tend to doubt us
Knowing they can do without us
Dogs are opposite: it’s true
You MIGHT find some that bark at you
Dogs who bite and yap and growl
And act in other ways most foul
Dogs with issues, quirks, and bents
Who shred your limbs and ligaments
A Hamlet dog will bite and scratch
Great Dane as big as bandersnatch
A Iago dog can be a smiler
Turn from poodle to rottweiler
And body parts they often sever
The dreaded Labrador “retrever”
But if a dog is friendly first
He’s friendly last, e’en at your worst
If you are late with bits and kibbles
He’ll eat the neighbor’s cats (or tribbles!)
And then off to his well-earned rest
People with dogs are truly blessed
