Thanks for the correct state colors.
Rhode Island is sensibly a blue state.
Colorado is a red state in the process of becoming blue, hopefully-kinda orange at the moment.

Rhode Island for sure is a real island – after which the state is named. Nothing wrong with that – New York state took its name after a city that started on an island.
And let’s not forget … What did Delaware? Idaho, Alaska.

You’re onto some reality, because I grew up there in R.I. , and you would not believe how many folk I’ve met thinking it was part of New York when they had in mind the picture of Long Island!
