Brevity is not only the soul of wit, it's also not your normal comics fare. In the hands of Dan, it is sharply intelligent, amusingly idiosyncratic and often uproariously funny.

OK, it’s a stretch that usually Susan would only dare to do. The degee of difficulty is off the charts, but here we go. While Monet was out standing in his field, these guys were Too Loose La Track…..

The image on the Utah State Quarter. I always wondered which train had to back up.

No offense to,Dan but the older Brevities are just on a different level.

@simpsonfan2 I’m sure some train nerds somewhere would know if it was the Jupiter or the 119 that had to back up. One of them will chime in
Also, it’s a widely held misconception that it was at Promontory Point. The history books are wrong. It was actually at Promontory Summit. Look at a map, you’ll see why it went that way. (The Lucin cutoff, which goes past Promontory Point, didn’t come until later.) I’ve been to the Golden Spike National Monument. They hold a re-enactment of the “Wedding of the Rails” every May 10th. It’s pretty cool.

Too bad GoComics doesn’t have a “like” button. I would sprain my finger punching it, my man.

The story of how this was really avoided is quite amazing.
