June Brigman and Mary Schmich’s classic soap-opera strip was a pioneer: a comic featuring a strong female lead character. Brenda Starr’s adventures, if not a realistic portrayal of a reporter’s life, have nevertheless captured the imagination of millions of readers.

Caressa does like her drinkies…..

This is sooo stupid!!
Caressa just tried to shoot Brenda, and nobody but the little girl lifted a finger to help?!?
And now Caressa has the rifle back and just hands it over to Ganesh, who can now stand up perfectly fine after passing out from a gunshot wound, which by the way no one has questioned.
Caressa could have shot everyone right there and then, but instead hands her rifle happily to Ganesh?
This is getting ridiculous…

And I thought Dick Tracy had continuity problems.

The art is great, as are Brenda’s wisecracks. But this is falling flat on the believability tip. Bigtime.

I think it’s cute that the elephants are asking who needs a drink?

This story is going nowhere. I love Brenda Starr, like Dick Tracy,I’m going to visit this strip once in a blue moon.

Could it be that this whole tiger hunt adventure was designed to be a moral lesson for the first two panels?
That’s the only thing that’s changed from where we were two weeks ago.
I wish Brenda felt remorse for the guy she left tied up in the shed all day.

Fred, I had the same impression! And yes, Raj and Taj could at least have manhandled the gun away from Caressa, who has given up way too easily with two counts of attempted murder before witnesses on her plate. Very disappointed with credibility here!

I thought that the plot was bad before, but this has gotten ridiculous. Panel 1 & 3 are the same except for the dialog. Brenda and Caressa both have their rifles after having them knocked away. Taj and Raj are still playing statues and Caressa wants to discuss what has happened like civilized people after she has tried to kill every one.

Caressa is an alcoholic.
Why does Caressa have her rifle slung over her shoulder again? Carina knocked out of her hands in yesterday’s edition.
Caressa’s rifle sling strap keeps appearing and disappearing.
In the 1st and 3rd panels, everyone is standing like they did right after Brenda killed the tiger.
Was Taj or Raj riding the elephant with the rifle in the holster in the 4th panel?

Also, Ganesh appears to have through-wound of the shoulder. These can be quite serious. He’s lucky his subclavian artery and vein were missed, or he would have bled to death.

I bet Salman needs a drink! I think he’s still tied up in the shed. Has Brenda forgotten about him??

I agree with everyone. This story has gotten both lame and inane.
I think it’s time for the “artists” to fold it in and turn the strip over to someone with brains.
BTW, Ganesh sure recovered from his bullet wound quickly!
Joe Allen Doty said, 12 days ago
Ganesh was passed out when Brenda shot the tiger.
Jogger2 said, 12 days ago
Brenda put down her riffle before Ganesh took Carressa’s??

Maybe the “writers” Kids have taken over the strip and are writing it ..The real writers ran out of talent and quit…I really think 10 year olds are writing this.. I am done with it…

Tiger is attacking me. I have a gun. I shoot and klil tiger. End of story, no moralality play, no weeping over loss of an animal. You can sure as heck know that tiger isn’t going to weep over my carcass. Get with it ppeople. You like evolution. It’s otyher name is SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST!

It would be nice if June and Mary would read the comments of the readers of this strip.
I wish all Veteran’s a peaceful Veteran’s Day.
Bad about what happened in Ft. Hood, TX. My prayers are with the families.

IT’S A CARTOON FOR HEAVEN SAKE!!! Artistic license prevails!!!!!!!

We know it’s a cartoon (comic strip) but have some continuity in the drawings. As for artistic license, I thought that only applied to paintings and art work.

Artistic License applies even more to cartoons than to other forms of art.
The Hathis (Elephants) are discussing the events of the day. They will probably adjourn to the nearest watering hole.
