June Brigman and Mary Schmich’s classic soap-opera strip was a pioneer: a comic featuring a strong female lead character. Brenda Starr’s adventures, if not a realistic portrayal of a reporter’s life, have nevertheless captured the imagination of millions of readers.

The Kahn brothers must be both blind and deaf if they haven’t noticed that Ganesh is not on his elephant. Either that or they had too much to drink.

If there’s anything left to nurse, she’d better get busy.

A real trained elephant would have emitted a sound if Ganesh had fallen.

That is a good way to train up a child.

OK. I gotta chime in w/you all and state, emphatically, that this is truly one of THE worst story lines EVER. Awful. So many holes in it, so many inconsistencies and forcing us to suspend disbelief wildly. The dudes have a merry cocktail and stop asking questions. They all agree to go HUNTING after a woman talks about killing off people? She shoots one and no one even turns around to look? Brenda trudging thru mud while they’re hunting TIGERS? WTF???

Fred, you mean like his ‘Driver’s been shot’ alarm would go off?
Is this how a drive-by on elephants is done?

Raj and Taj knew that Ganesh had been shot. They are pulling a “I didn’t see that.” They knew that is what Caressa had in mind when she suggested the tiger hunt. That is why it was so easy to get them to go on the hunt on short notice. They probably have their stories prepared.
But, Carina is a witness to murder. (Maybe attempted murder.)

BTW, that is one cool bolt action rifle Mamacita is using there. I gotta hand it to her. She may be a horrible mother, a bad girl friend and just an all around general evil lady but she does know how to handle her firearms.

Y’know what I’d love to see? Pug suddenly jumping out of the bushes and killing that bleeep Caressa!
That is, before she plugs the entire hunting party!

The only hope for this storyline is for Brenda to wake up in the shower and find that this has all been a dream…
DanKora said, 27 days ago
Was that a shot?
No dummy it was an elephant backfiring!
Hey, It’s more believable than this storyline…

Jogger2 : You’re so right. The one person everyone wanted dead was Ganesh. Everyone is “Didn’t see nothin’, don’t know nothin’.” They are all in it together, and all will have to keep silent.
In the real world, the problem would be that the authorities would investigate and eventually piece together what had happened. After the whole ridiculous plot turn, however, I’m sure that the “real world” will have nothing to do with what happens next.
Of course, Brenda is also a witness. The makes things a bit more complicated. But the plot has become Dick Tracy with better art.
Jogger2 said, 27 days ago
They don’t yet know Brenda is a witness. They might later have concerns that their daughter / niece might not be able to hold up, and keep it secret.
(Echoing Basilfan) What a way to bring up a child!
