June Brigman and Mary Schmich’s classic soap-opera strip was a pioneer: a comic featuring a strong female lead character. Brenda Starr’s adventures, if not a realistic portrayal of a reporter’s life, have nevertheless captured the imagination of millions of readers.

Boy, Brenda does always seem to get herself into sticky

How did Taj and Raj find out where to go and did they ride all the way on horse back? Is Caressa going to get rid of everyone permanently? Tune in next week for the thrilling conclusion folks.

Did Taj and Raj keep their horses tethered outside of Brenda’s apartment?

Before, Ganesh seemed to be the owner and editor of a struggling newspaper. Here, he seems to be financially comfortable, to say the least.

Oh, so now little Salman’s gonna get ROUGH with Brenda?
I think it’s past time someone took him out behind the woodshed…..

I do not think Salman has a clue.Maybe? I think he is just ticked thinking Brenda is going to scoop him on this story that he started out on. I think that is why Ganesh put him with Brenda thinking she would also not have a clue. Wrong.

Taj and Raj are riding in TOGETHER. That must mean they’ve learned the real truth and are riding to the rescue!
I’ll bet the long-absent Pug has been doing the REAL reporting, and told them when she returned to her (trashed) apartment.
Next MONTH, when this story finally concludes and Brenda learns that the Flash is solvent again, it’s Pug who returns to the good ol’ US of A.

So Ganish is living a double life. Are the brothers the hero’s or is Salman or are all three? I thought we where in modern times.

While it might be modern times in the U.S. - it is not like that at all in other countries. One of my sons is a missionary in Nicaragua. When Katrina hit, the price of gasoline got so high down there that the taxis, buses and nearly everything which needed gasoline to operate just quit. For example, there is no longer any such thing as mail delivery or UPS or Fed Ex delivery - because the trucks no longer run. Gasoline sometimes runs as high as $20-$25 per gallon. Most people walk most of the time - at least - where automobiles were once prominent. Out in the country, most people never could afford to have an automobile - and those people continued to rely on horses, donkeys and mules for their transportation and for tasks such as farming and transporting goods. If you go to downtown Managua these days, you will see only a few automobiles on the roads. For the most part, people walk, ride bicycles, ride horses (usually bareback) or ride in carts being pulled by horses, donkeys or mules. Since Katrina hit, people in Managua only have electricity about 12 hours per day. So if you were depending on using your electric washing machine for washing your clothes, and your time to have electricity is midnight - you make sure you are up at midnight so you can wash your clothes when the electricity comes on. Fortunately, there were Mennonite missionaries in the area and my son and his family were able to purchase their used appliances - including a generator - so they ARE able to generate some of their own electricity. They rely on rechargeable flashlights to see after dark - they recharge the batteries whenever they get electricity. They also have a number of solar powered flashlights which they use. They bought a solar oven from Lehman Brothers, which specializes in non-electric appliances for Amish families in the U.S. And, actually, as third world countries go - Nicaragua is considered to be better off than a lot of others.
So - if the part of India where this is supposed to be taking place is anything like Managua - I could see where a couple of rich brothers could find someone right outside Brenda’s apartment building who would be willing to make a quick sale of their horses so the brothers could chase Brenda.

You also have to realize that all of this is taking place in a one day time span and it is still daylight.

Deborah Reyes, thanks for updating us on conditions where your son lives. We take so much for granted here…

That’s not true about Nicragua. This past Feb I flew to Managua and spent a week outside of Granada. We never lost power - many people throw a wire hook over the power lines and feed their houses - and while it’s true that most ride bikes or use donkey carts, there were a lot of old school buses running and the auto traffic in Managua was very heavy. And the gas prices were similar to what they were in FL in Feb. That may have been true a couple of years ago after Katrina, but not now.
Now …. let’s go Brenda !!
