June Brigman and Mary Schmich’s classic soap-opera strip was a pioneer: a comic featuring a strong female lead character. Brenda Starr’s adventures, if not a realistic portrayal of a reporter’s life, have nevertheless captured the imagination of millions of readers.

Again, I forsee a littlt twap to the head, a trip to the cellar, where she will await darkness (suitably restrained of course). and then a nick of time rescue by either the Kahn brothers or good ole whatzhisname the arrogant yutz.

Can you read lips, Bren?
So, when that Salami guy makes the scene, whose side will he be on?
MangoEater said, about 1 month ago
Watch out, Brenda, Salami is behind you! Will he or won’t he blow your cover, as Jo Jo wants to know.

It doesn’t matter what Brenda does in the name of journalism, she will invariably end up in hot water. It’s been that way for decades. Yet we the faithful persevere!

The reason Salman is following Brenda is because she is better at getting the facts than he is and maybe he can get the “scoop” on this story. And where is Pug while all this is going on? Out on a wild goose chase somewhere?

Notice how “happy” Garesh is to see the kid. There’s murder in his eyes.
I think Brenda will have to step in sooner than she’d like just to save the urchin’s life.
