June Brigman and Mary Schmich’s classic soap-opera strip was a pioneer: a comic featuring a strong female lead character. Brenda Starr’s adventures, if not a realistic portrayal of a reporter’s life, have nevertheless captured the imagination of millions of readers.

Good grief, Pug is out, Ganesh is out, everybody’s coming and going like it’s a drawing room farce. Bren, you’re in something way over your head. Make a beeline for the airport.

Brenda would never flee from a challenge, no matter how complex.
Besides, where would she go? Her job at the Flash is suspended, remember?

Why did Ganesh scurry out? Is he up to no good?
Tune in tomorrow, nothing will have changed.

This strip didn’t load on my comics page today but I clicked on comments and here it is. Why?
Still don’t know who to trust in this story line.

The Sunday strip is in color, showing the Indian characters with cocoa-colored skin.
During the week, in B&W, they look Caucasian!

I hope the brother uses this opportunity to take a shower. Does he have a change of clothes or even a tooth brush?
