June Brigman and Mary Schmich’s classic soap-opera strip was a pioneer: a comic featuring a strong female lead character. Brenda Starr’s adventures, if not a realistic portrayal of a reporter’s life, have nevertheless captured the imagination of millions of readers.

I fail to see how today’s panels advanced the story any. Let’s get on with it!

She’s a bird in a gilded cage and an angel with a dirty face all wrapped up in one adorable package.

I believe June and Mary think of plot lines as they go along, and when they’re in a rut, the story just inches along.
Next time, they should write a whole script in advance, which they can alter and embellish as they go along.

Maybe that’s the problem, that they are working on Brenda’s next adventure after she solves this one. Maybe Taj will give her enough money to go back to the USA and buy the Flash.

Maybe that’s the problem, they are working on Brenda’s next adventure after she solves this one and everybody is happy. Maybe Taj will give her enough money to go back to the USA and buy the Flash. That’s where she always seems to end up.

Didn’t Brenda learn anything from Pugs experience. If she is following the urchin she should be wearing a helmet. geez!
