June Brigman and Mary Schmich’s classic soap-opera strip was a pioneer: a comic featuring a strong female lead character. Brenda Starr’s adventures, if not a realistic portrayal of a reporter’s life, have nevertheless captured the imagination of millions of readers.

Mark, back when I was 9, in the early 1960s, we wandered around our neighborhood after school and weren’t expected home until suppertime. We would have pick-up baseball games, socialize over snacks at a local grocery store, and we lived in a city.

Where I work at part-time there is a place where teenagers go when they get in trouble because they do not use their imaginations like Calvin. These teenagers are city kids.
This little girl likes to explore.

Anyone notice that the Monday strip is basically a retread of the Sunday strip, but without the embellishment?
Joe Allen Doty said, 3 months ago
Yes, today’s installment is an edited version of Sunday’s comic.

Where does the little girl keep her dirty “street” clothes? Certainly not in the penthouse.
