June Brigman and Mary Schmich’s classic soap-opera strip was a pioneer: a comic featuring a strong female lead character. Brenda Starr’s adventures, if not a realistic portrayal of a reporter’s life, have nevertheless captured the imagination of millions of readers.

Do we know where the newspaper office is located (on the map). Near Bombay/Mumbai perhaps? The very interesting Elephanta Island is in Mumbai Harbor.

Looks more like a rowboat than a yacht. Better put on your life preserver, Brenda.

Caressa : A variant of Caresse (French) & Carissa (Greek) - it says the meaning of the name stands for “tender -touch :grace”, According to Think Baby Names .com it is a very rare female first name & a very rare surname.

The twist to the story will be that the street urchin is actually a human clone of Caressa, developed as a replacement for the late wife and held in the seclusion of the palace until she is of age.

And Taj and Salman AND Pug are all the same person!
I say let StarrMan do some pinch-scripting for this strip.

Funny how the secondary characters in this strip always have names that are a step away from their image - Pug, Caressa, etc.
So what’s next? Taj’s last name is Mahal? Better tell the blues singer of the same name the news….

Caressa may be the name on the boat, but I am afraid Caressa went off the boat.
