June Brigman and Mary Schmich’s classic soap-opera strip was a pioneer: a comic featuring a strong female lead character. Brenda Starr’s adventures, if not a realistic portrayal of a reporter’s life, have nevertheless captured the imagination of millions of readers.

Hi Margueritem. Expect to post a few of my away pics @ Pibgorn for next weekend’s off topic blather. Takes so long to dig out when you get home from a long absence. Ed was a big hit in places we visited and has been extended an invitation to our family picnic in August. We’ll see what happens.

Note “urchin” lurking in the middle panel. For a second day in a row!

Look out, Brenda, it is the Island of No Return! But maybe the urchin can save you.

Is Brenda in the Bombay/Mumbai area? If so, I hope they go to Elephanta Island in Mumbai Harbor!

I hope there’s a nice restaurant - so far no mention of great Indian food.

Love Indian food…buffalo, jackrabbit, antelope, fried bread, and maize (sweet corn).
