June Brigman and Mary Schmich’s classic soap-opera strip was a pioneer: a comic featuring a strong female lead character. Brenda Starr’s adventures, if not a realistic portrayal of a reporter’s life, have nevertheless captured the imagination of millions of readers.

He’s a whiner and a complainer and a little snot-nosed kid. Ugh.

was he planning on pretending to be a movie starlet? what idea did Brenda steal this time?
and is it just me, but hasn’t that tunic he gave her shrunk into a tanktop?

Who shot Jack Grant?

He must be a fantastic reporter if Garnesh lets him get away with everything. I wonder what his “mother” would think of him after she made the tunic for Brenda, I assume, at his request. He’s just mad because he didn’t “score” with Brenda.

I am getting really, REALLY sick of this guy, with his carefully-groomed beard stubble and toxic attitude. He seems to think he’s adorable when he’s rude (he isn’t), and that because he looks like a “bad boy,” he can get away with anything. Meanwhile, he hasn’t done a shred of real work in this entire story! Brenda needs to simply wind up, and break his nose.

Hmmmm his way or the highway.
Buses travel on highways.
People get thrown under buses.
AH HA! I got it!
Let’s throw this schmuck under the bus and get on with the story!

Is that why newspapers are dying? Because they are overrun with primadonnas who won’t work for the good of the paper?
