June Brigman and Mary Schmich’s classic soap-opera strip was a pioneer: a comic featuring a strong female lead character. Brenda Starr’s adventures, if not a realistic portrayal of a reporter’s life, have nevertheless captured the imagination of millions of readers.

Do I see the urchin behind that rickshaw in panels 1&2 ………and also in the alley spying on Salman & Brenda in the last panel?

Yes. She’ll protect Brenda some how.

So, since Salman acknowledged he’s a prime suspect, does that mean it’s too obvious for him to be the killer? Or is he just lulling B (and us) into a false sense of security?

isn’t this the same guy who just last week was begging brenda to wear the tunic to please his mother? her compliance does not seem to have altered his attittude toward her at all.

Salman is always angry and never says anything to be cordial.

Maybe she is texting Salman’s mother with her location, she seems to be the only REAL trustworthy character at this point. I have seen nothing exonerating the street urchin, for example.

She hangs on the back like a little cherub guarding her lovebirds.

Can someone please help me? I am missing the strip from May 16, 2009. We used to have thirty days to see each day’s comic, but with this site’s recent relaunch it changed to just one week. I now get every comic emailed to me so this is no longer a problem. If someone could send me the 5-16-09 comic strip, I would really appreciate it. My email address is joelcerio@yahoo.com. Thanks!

Why are all the hot guys such bipolar jerks? lol

Because that makes them easy to write about & stereotyp hot guys as empty headed, compared to such beauftiful & intelligent women as Brenda. It’s funny. I’ve been “in love” with Brenda Starr since she was old enough to be my mother & now I’m old enough to be her grand father. Is that fair? Or should I just enjoy beinbg a dirty old man?
