June Brigman and Mary Schmich’s classic soap-opera strip was a pioneer: a comic featuring a strong female lead character. Brenda Starr’s adventures, if not a realistic portrayal of a reporter’s life, have nevertheless captured the imagination of millions of readers.

This guy is afraid Brenda might be able to teach him something. What a blow to the old ego.

Is Basil gone for several more years? I’ve been reading Brenda Starr for ~ 60 years except for 6 years when I was a student. Then it was dropped from our paper several years ago and it wasn’t until I got a computer at work that I found the strip again. By that time Wanda had entered the picture and you all know the rest.

Ganesh needs to work on his nicknames - “Tiger” is not used as a term of affection in India. I once rode a horse named Tiger and an Indian MD asked me why on earth I would name my horse that….it is looked upon like we would call someone “Rat” (but then again perhaps Salman IS a rat!)

Not that there is anything wrong with a new partner.

I think the tiger reference means Salman is a Tamil.
