June Brigman and Mary Schmich’s classic soap-opera strip was a pioneer: a comic featuring a strong female lead character. Brenda Starr’s adventures, if not a realistic portrayal of a reporter’s life, have nevertheless captured the imagination of millions of readers.

Those turkey tracks below her eyes freak me out man.

Maybe he want to take her picture to pass it on to the “terminator,” lol
saikrishna_31 said, 6 months ago
she looks very thin for her age.. more like starved…. and the lines under her eyes like’wndrwrthg’ was saying ‘the turkey tracks’ is looking horriable

Um, she’s supposed to have sparkling eyes, tho it looks a little more like oddly placed crow’s feet…

I’m guessing that Salman is the murderer (or possibly whoever he’s sending that photo to.

That thought crossed my mind yesterday…that Salman is the bad guy. At the very least, he has some sort of hidden agenda. Does anyone else think he bought that tunic at the bazaar and is conning Brenda with the “Mother” story?

I thought about that Florchi. Salman sure did do a turn-a-round in attitude. That is weird his mother made something for Brenda and never met her. This is all to strange to me. I would definitely be on guard in this situation.
Where is the concern for Pug? She has not been home all night and 2 reporters have come up dead. I would be getting very concerned about my friends whereabouts.

There is no mother. The person giving the outfit and getting the picture is some yet to be revealed underground figure (aka someone trying to monopolize the newspapers in India).

Could Salmon be part of a slavery ring?
fletchbiz said, 6 months ago
Looks like Brenda’s getting set up by Salman the nogoodnik. Something fishy going on with him. I’m betting there’s someone in the background trying to put the newspaper out of business.

Yes, Brenda sometimes does look anorexic. Especially in silhouette in the panels just after she was lead to the body. And those line under her eyes sometimes make her look like she had a face lift.

And who does Brenda have in India to come to her rescue? Pug. Things like grim.

True, Brenda doesn’t look as pretty as she often does. But it seems like every time the artist makes a mistake you self-appointed critics are quick to jump on it. Don’t you have bad days? Didn’t any of you ever make mistakes? So the artist slips up every now and then. Who cares? as long as the story is interesting.

It certainly is strange that Salman’s “mother” made that garment to fit so perfectly and so quickly for a guy that only a day or two before was treating her as if she just got out of school.
