June Brigman and Mary Schmich’s classic soap-opera strip was a pioneer: a comic featuring a strong female lead character. Brenda Starr’s adventures, if not a realistic portrayal of a reporter’s life, have nevertheless captured the imagination of millions of readers.

So I guess Brenda is going to be stuck with the hotel bill now that Basil disappeared.

Looks like June and Mary got back from their vacation and decided to start writing the column again.

Basilfan-June & Mary weren’t on vacation, the gocomics team was. You missed the links I posted for the past couple days. Unfortunately, the other pages are still filled with Brewster Rockit panels.

We still don’w know who Aurora is, do we? One must learn patience if one is to be a devoted dreader of Brenda Starr.

Basil said that Aurora is one of the world’s richest women. She is an heir to a fortune that came from a company that makes weapons, begun in the middle ages.
Somehow, we want to know more about her, and her association with Basil.

Wow!!!! Aurora is greedy.

Apparently, the orchid can cure a lot more than the St. John family disease.
I thought the black orchid was a rare plant native to South America. If so, it is very unlikely that it would have been available to those in ancient Kazookistan. Maybe it is a related species.

I don’t think there is any missing strips. It is probably where they just continued it at.

Princess12880, there are missing strips on the GoComics website. Brenda Starr has been published every day this week in newspapers like the Chicago Tribune. The plot hasn’t advanced much this week, but there was a new strip each day.
Also, if you go back and read the comments from the past two days, you’d see that Subtorp401 scanned in the daily strip and posted it to another website so that people here could keep up with what was happening, a fact which he mentioned earlier in today’s discussion. (btw, thank you Subtorp401!)

Phew! Looks like nothing much happened before GoComics got it together. Many thanks to Subtorp401 for filling in with the scans.

What I have done was to go to ” show calenad ” and punch in the desired date. ( for me it 12 / 29 when the problem started ) and then continue to do so the subsequent days . All the missing strips have re-appeared .

Can we have the missing strips?
If we pay for premium service again, can it stop sucking?

This is why I didn’t go pro, here. After the MyComicsPage fiasco…anyhow, looks like all is back on track. I’m hoping no future foul-ups, but who are we kiddin’? If so, I’ll be here for the “alterante” scans( as long as the Herald still carries Brenda ).

Jan 1 and 2 are still Brewster around these parts. Thanks for the head-up jerkdogs.

Better. Hope Jan 1 and 2 get fixed soon, also. But so nice to see Brenda back thinking, as usual, better than the men around her. :-)
