June Brigman and Mary Schmich’s classic soap-opera strip was a pioneer: a comic featuring a strong female lead character. Brenda Starr’s adventures, if not a realistic portrayal of a reporter’s life, have nevertheless captured the imagination of millions of readers.

But there is a young lady much cleverer then you, Basil.

In the end, I guess I’m a sappy fellow as well…cuz after all, Brenda and Basil are back together. Sage will be ok; the Flash will go on publishing; Patch will get his puppychow. But after Sam Moody, Nick Nikon, Buzz Bucks, Jett Sweat, Laramie Coyote, Mikael Gudonov, all the others, and most recently, Jack Grant…we know who Brenda loves best.

This rogues gallery tells me I’ve missed more years of the STARR than I realized. I read this as a kid in the 60’s when they had mermaid girl.

Hey Ray, about something you said yesterday. I think I’d even go PRO if there was a chat room.
