VW brought back the Beetle in the US quite a few years ago. They had some cute billboards, too. My favorites: “0 to 60? Yes.” and “Comes with all the extras. Like heat.”

I understand one of the extras is billed as a flower holder, for the ladies. Can also double as a cup holder, I suppose. My favorite fehicle was the Volkswagon Thing. Only lasted a year or two.

you are correct, 1969-1974, none after that because of vehicle safety laws, but there are a couple in my backyard rusting
