I remember Jerry Falwell’s evidence that Jesus supported the death penalty: he didn’t protest when he was being crucified. A fine example of the quality of thought of the Christian right.

I believe in God and I think faith is a wonderful thing

Religion, on the other hand, frequently pisses me off

I fear your ignorance of literary terms is showing. Two words separated by an “and” cannot be an oxymoron. A paradox or contradiction perhaps but never an oxymoron.

When it comes down to it the facts show Democrats lie far less than Republicans. The closer you are to the Republican mind set the more you tend to lie. Republicans think they have been absolved of any sins they commit for their perceived greater good.

That’s because facts have a well known liberal bias…

Christ did not repudiate the stoning of someone who broke the law, he repudiated the hypocrisy of those doing the stoning. Since Christ took the cat o nine tails (knotted ropes) to the money changers, does that mean we can whip people?

Religious conservatives give more than liberals in time and charitable donations. It may be due to the idea that these secular liberals believe that the government does everything so they do not have to. I personally find that a distasteful philosophy. But for some it is sufficient. I think some liberals should be careful before casting stones.

An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth – He taught these old laws in the synagogs as preached across the Holy land.

People learn by example, not by what they are told.
