Since this is a rerun, I wonder if the writer ever did refer to this again. It could be funny to see Grandad, in his comic strip reality, watching and commenting on the reboot that we were so fortunate to be denied (I’m convinced it would have been a disaster). Just sorry that the powers that be were foolish enough to let the reboot idea keep them from writing a decent finale and giving AMC a proper sendoff.
