    In 2013, we had a government slimdown that hurt a few people very badly, inconvenienced many more, but had little or no effect on most Americans. Not what I’d call a major disaster.

    We did have problems with the ACA IT systems, but didn’t notice for the first 16 days (thanks to the slimdown). Then we noticed. Some say it’s been fixed. Prof Krugman says the IT still isn’t working, but the 800 numbers are, and the ACA is now providing affordable care to all Americans, thereby greatly improving American healthcare while slashing costs, which was the point, and the IT system isn’t really that important.

    So what I’m hearing from Obamabots is that everything is now working perfectly, and from Tea types that the ACA is a complete disaster, and I can’t tell which one is telling the truth (but I suspect, None of the above).

    Someone else posted this yesterday, but it’s worth reposting, the jibjab 2013 Summary.

    Jibjab mention that the traitor Snowden tried to expose the NSA, but every Patriotic American knows the NSA watching everything we do 24/7 is absolutely necessary to prevent the terrorists from killing us, and patriots have only the deepest gratitude for their tireless surveillance that’s just keeping us safe. So not really a big deal. Anyone who watches Caste knows they prevent at least one nuclear attack by terrorists every week, but details must remain classified Top Secret. So they are not only protecting us from unspeakable attacks, they’re very humble about it. What more could anyone ask?

    Yep the stock market had a terrible year(it ain’t JUST the “fed money”. Home sales and values are up. PRIVATE employment is up (while granted we still need better). We’re out of Iraq, and getting out of Afghanistan, we didn’t lose any troops in Syria, Libya, Egypt, or Iran with more stupid “boots on the ground” wars. Folks are starting to get health insurance, which still doesn’t fully kick in until after 2014. And yes, “unemployment figures” are using exactly the SAME methods as under Bush, Clinton, Bush 41 and Reagan, so don’t even start to go there with the current administration.

    2003 and 2008, now there were a couple very bad years for our troops and the markets, respectively.

    Overtaxed: if you look at history, you WILL see a relationship between unemployment and stock market: when unemployment goes up, SO DOES THE MARKET (traditionally!). Profits in the MIC DO reflect as well in the market, so wars ARE good for the market, and profits.(not so good for troops or their families)

    blah blah socialist blah blah socialist blah blah socialist
    Let’s see now…
    socialists are unable to separate reality from fiction (and you know all the answers, of course);
    the stock market has nothing to do with the economy (ever hear of “crashes”?);
    If it did … socialist programs would no longer exist due to a lack of use (say whut?);
    Never let reality get in the way of socialist mental disorders (therefore, all “socialists” have mental disorders? I question your sense of reality)
    2014 would be a very good year if all the socialist programs were destroyed (and what “socialist” programs are those?)
    prosecute the Idiot-In-Chief for treason (because…?)
    Obama even admitted he is a complete and total idiot (Oh? When was this?)
    he knows nothing about everything that goes wrong (and I suppose you know everything about nothing? You do understand those are mutually exclusive terms, right?)
    The NSA can spy on [you] when you go to the restroom (paranoid, much?)
    I have met a number of socialists who seem to think a restroom isn’t required and adult diapers will do just fine while they live in their parents basements (hate much? Pal around with socialists wearing diapers, too?)
    Your posts are downright funny, especially if you don’t really know what socialism is.

    They are going to be FASCINATING! Many conservatives think that there will be a backlash against Obozo for his impressive level of incompetence. I personally think Republicans will have a fight on their hands; that between the food stamp DNC recruitment drive (solid democratic voters; paid for by working taxpayers. Ironic.), the media’s passionate protection of DEMS, the rabid Kool Aid drinkers and the DNC’s ability to scare people, I believe it is their election to lose.
    As long as reality TV is a viable entertainment medium, the DNC will own this country and continue to drive it into the ground.

    the rabid Kool Aid drinkers
    The thing about the arsenic-laced Kool-Aid is, ya only get to drink it once.
    Not like the rat-a-tat hits on Democrats you like to keep posting. The Republicans are screwing things up with their policies, but making up for it with propaganda that the all-too-gullible eat up with a fork and spoon.
