    @NotSufferingFoolsAtAll

    So you are saying heroin should be legal?

    Heroin should be legal. With the amount of illness and pain in the World, a pain reliever 1000 times as effective as Morphine should not be denied to those suffering. Anyone who disagrees should hopefully contract some painful disease, ASAP. See what they think when they reach 9 on the pain scale. Heroin was an OTC analgesic prior to WW1. Many people were addicted. Oddly, the Heroin caused no negative side effects other than addiction. It reduced or eliminated otherwise debilitating pain for the user while leaving their every day lives unaffected. It was cheap, too.

    Hopefully it kills them all off. Less trash living off the teat.

    You are right about the history. The difference today is that it’s illegal, therefor expensive, therefor “stretched” with anything of the same color, from baking powder to ant-poison.

    -

    But you are wrong in terms of what it does. It is an hallucinogenic drug. Yes, when you’re out you don’t feel any pain, but you’re far, far out. Your claim that a person under H has his every day live unaffected is ridiculous! Just look at drug-related crimes, they started with H, not with weed…

    Alcohol is the gateway drug to heroin, they are both depressants.

    @Rad-ish

    You ask a poster if they’re saying heroin should be legal, and now you post about Alcohol being a gateway to Heroin, now seems you want Heroin to be legal.

    I consumed alcohol in mass quantities until i tired of the vicious cycle I was in, so in 1994 I quit cold turkey.

    I never had the desire to try heroin, so your assumption is wrong

    @MortyForTyrant. You sir have not educated yourself about either the phony war on drugs or the drugs we pretend to be fighting against. Many European countries have sites where heroin addicts are allowed to use the drug and it is given to them for that purpose. Without the worry about where the money for their next fix will come from, these people do indeed live normal and productive lives. Heroin is a pain killer and not a hallucinogenic and it is cheap and plentiful because the USA is protecting the growers in Afghanistan and no doubt the CIA is still using drug money to fund their illegal covert operations.

    Morty, do the reading. The differences are legal and cultural I’m talking about a period before heroin was illegal. If an addict used H in analgesic doses rather than trying to get high, the only physical effect is pain relief. Malnutrition is price related. Poverty is as well. I’ve a lot of reading on this subject. My wife has been dealing with extreme pain for over 30 years, and we’ve explored every option available. Unfortunately, pharmaceutical quality herion isn’t available in the good ol’ USA. It is in some countries in Europe.

    Europe has created a permanent heroin underclass. They meet in parks, leave their needles everywhere and allow little tragedies of children to find out what happens when you are pinpricked.

    No. He’s saying that his religious views should be imposed upon everyone else.

    @Jeff Kiser

    The police have the technology to catch the addicts who don’t dispose of their needles properly. Impose stiff sentences on those whose needles infect a innocent party with a blood born disease like HIV or Hep. A week in jail when a needle’s user is identified without a victim. Addicts hate ‘cold turkey’ in jail.

    ^HUH???

    Heroin is making a resurgence, and that’s not good. It’s time to stop focusing on marijuana, and focus on real hard narcotics, and eliminating dealers, especially those at the TOP of the distribution chain, who have long been above prosecution due to their wealth, and position.

    I favor giving an OD to all DEALERS, which would eliminate those selling such as heroin, meth, cocaine, but wouldn’t do anything to those selling marijuana (unless they choke on a brick!).
