OK, this is just another example of a bad policy decision. The “red line” concept is pleasing to the general public. It makes them feel good about you that you do have a limit to what is acceptable. In reality, when you draw a line in the sand (just another way to say it) and the challenged decides to step over it one must then act in accord with those convictions. So never make a challenge that you are afraid to back up with actions.

But fer cryin’ out loud people, not another war!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

President Obama would be wise to go slowly (as he is doing), gather international support, build the international coalition, and get congress to approve every detail.

    (shudder) NO MORE WARS.

An idiotic “concept” and we need to stay OUT of Syrian affairs, period.

So, no proof needed — just claim they used chemical weapons and invade. Sure, works for me.
    .
I mean, nobody would invent phony intelligence to justify an unnecessary war in the Middle East and put our young people’s lives at risk, simply to profit from it.

    @Tigger

    From NBC news:

3/20/2013 “On his first state visit to Israel, President Barack Obama said Wednesday the United States will do what is necessary to prevent Iran from getting nuclear weapons…”

    From “Politix” 3/2013

Obama would go to war to prevent Iran getting a nuclear weapon, Biden reaffirmed in a speech to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee.

    From ABC News 3/15/2013

In an interview with Israeli TV ahead of his visit to the region next week, President Obama says he believes Iran is “over a year or so” away from being able to develop a nuclear weapon and that the U.S. will use all options to stop it.

    From Fox news 3/22/2013

America will give Israel the advanced weapons it needs for a preemptive strike against Iran’s nuclear sites, but will not join in that fight. Obama said, “we’ve got your back,” but did not say “we’ll be with you shoulder to shoulder should fighting break out.”

The one from Fox is an “opinion” piece. You may want to read it.

I’ll keep looking but what I see is not Obama saying he will go to war. Biden said it for him. Like with the gay marriage thing. It’s a CYA thing so Obama can go either way according to the situation.

There’s a war going on in Syria and America needs to get involved.

Of course, we’re not sure yet which side to support, but that’s not important right now. Obama needs to pick a side and start bombing as soon as possible.
