We shall see. I heard double-dipping is considered bad and rude, but I don’t know if that applies to recessions as well. If it happens there will be a lot of very, very bad graphs for future historians to shake their heads over…

How goes the new job? Got any plans for the revenue enhancement? Or is it so you can keep up with the entitlement program?

Proposed budget by Obama for 2013 (and since no budget gets past just continuing resolutions for spending he gets what he wants) … 3.8 TRILLION dollars in spending.
Projected revenue (including that wonderful tax increase on the rich) 2.6 trillion.
Estimated deficit spending 1.2 trillion.
sequestration cut in projected deficit spending – 85 billion dollars.
sequestration percentage of total proposed budget 2.2%
of projected deficit 7%
if sequestration happens, it will take zero dollars away from the mandatory spending in the “budget”
If sequestration happens it will reduce the “DEBT” by zero dollars.
If sequestration happens it will reduce the deficit by 7%

Half the amount will come from defense, so only about 44 billion will come from discretionary “social” budgets items.
Let it happen. Remember the president’s words. shared sacrifice. balanced approach
Make the cuts. THEN reform the tax code and stick it to all the corporation welfare recipients by deleting every last “loophole” and “deduction” and make it a “fair” tax where every single person that has income of any kind contributes “X” percent (I suggest 15).
What?

Sequester is a joke as far as “solution”, but across the board cuts WILL seriously damage many IMPORTANT programs that Congress, especially Republicans, has cut to barely functional budgets. Other programs, like “Defense” could easily be cut by 30%, or enough to pay for the reduction “target” of sequester. Just the ludicrously wasteful and stupid F-35 program is $1.3 TRILLION over the same 10 year period. Like government under Republican plans, that system is AGAIN grounded while still in the “testing” phase, because it’s over-priced junk worse than the F-22 which it was supposed to take the place of. Yes, it’s my “pet” waste program, because my brother, who retired from Lockheed Martin’s space program, was always BRAGGING about the waste and fraud in his “industry”, while condemning tax increases, which for decades paid his salary, retirement, medical coverage, and bonuses!!

Says the guy whose salary won’t be cut by 20% because some jerk won’t compromise on shoveling truckloads of money to folks who won’t work.

Obama said Sequester was needed when ‘W’ was President and he was a Senator.
The Pentagon is now crying to Obama not to cut Defense Spending.

Remember figures don’t lie but liars figure. Seems PresBo is in the latter.

LOL just read that Obama’s pay check is insulated from the sequester. Gee, really?
