But Bush’s executive orders for torture, spying on citizens, etc were okay.

@Hopton
This is why the likes of John Yoo, Condi Rice, Richard Perle, George Tenet, Dough Feith and Donald Rumsfeld should have the cell right next to GWB and Darth Vader in De Hague. Enablers, the lot of them!

Hitler was clever enough to kill himself (after testing the cyanide on his poor dog, Blondie), Goebbels and his wife slow-poisoned their seven children and then shot each other. But Goering, the coward, actually went through Nuremberg and onto the gallows. He thought he could broker a deal. Pfffft!

I wonder whom of the guys in the first paragraph would have the guts to follow their spiritual leader and put a gun to their head (which Hitler did in addition to the cyanide, really anal that guy…).

Could you translate that as “I AM the law”? (The state, is me).

@Hopton
OK look them up for us here.

Now explain what is wrong with it.
And please find the other one for us here.

Exhaustive work being able to prove what you are saying rather than just pointing fingers.
Not that I disagree, but, if that IS your position then why do you think it’s OK for Obama to bypass the constitution with an executive order?

No they weren’t. What bearing does that have on anything? Bush was a terrible president. Obama is as well. Debating about which one is worse is like arguing whether it’s better to burn to death or die by pancreatic cancer. Neither is preferable.
The issue is how much power should the President have. Not ‘Well The Republicans got to do it, so should we’. Honestly, half the comments on these pages come down to ‘Well so and so did it..’ It’s like reading the transcript for a murder trial as conducted by a sixth grade class.

Am I right in my understanding that Obama has YET to issue an executive order but that he MIGHT?

Isn’t that classic Western for you? The Sheriff, the Bandit, the Taunt, the Retort, the Shootout? “High Noon” on steroids…

Oh come one, Doctor! Ever since LaPierre did his stupid press conference you must have known that they’re pre-moving the goalposts just in order to keep the status quo. The push was so hard this time that even the MSM picked it up. The guys they work for, the guys that pay them, the guys they call friends, they are all unbending, not one step back, lets have a civil war, take our country back, heehaw “patriots”. I really would like to see what the Secret Service has picked up in the last three weeks on boards, phones, CB-radio and so on. Toughest job in the world since Sen. Obama declared he wanted to run in 2006 or so…

"W"’s list of EOs that violated law and the Constitution was pretty long, but the did have Cheney’s “Unitary presidency” in mind for eight years, and two illegal wars based on lies, and of course, pure, poor, judgement.

What is Obama to do? The Congress will not pass anything constructive. The GOP has been purchased by the lobbyists and the radical rich, so their first motto is: Do no harm to our beloved millionaires." The Congress forced Obama’s hand, I support Obama’s action, you should too.

The minority GOP, who believe they are the state, are already threatening impeachment if Obama does anything about guns.
Bruce4671 said, 4 months ago
@DrCanuck
On gun control none yet but an estimated 19 orders to be issued soon. Most I hear are related to existing laws and regulations and improving mental health issues so OK.
But he has issued executive orders negating current federal laws (some of them) concerning immigration and, should you be interested – here is the register for his others.

Somebody buy Gorrell a clue. Doing illustrations for Rush Limbaugh is a silly job.

Not true. They’re threatening impeachment for overstepping his authority. There’s a huge difference.
